The Dentist will provide services to beneficiaries of the Indian Health Service at the Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. The Dentist shall deliver quality care to attain positive health outcomes for all our valued patients with emphasis on cultural sensitivity and human dignity.
Lawton Indian Hospital is a full-service hospital providing a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and public health services. Position details:
-1099, rate $140-155/hour
-Full time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
-Chenega covers medical malpractice insurance
-Patient Volume: Minimum of 8 per day
Responsibilities:
-Perform a full range of professional dental treatments to include treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative or preventative measures such as single and multiple tooth extractions, restoration of various lesions with standard and prescribed material, prosthodontics such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
-Strictly adhere to patient safety standards.
-Document patient treatment in the dental treatment record Dentrix to enter patient specific workload, readiness status and patient scheduling.
-Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines.
-Responsible for actions necessary for The Joint Commission (TJC) standard compliance and administrative policies, as directed.
-Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as needed basis.
-Provide physician service and staff urgent care clinic, as needed.
-Complete all annual training required by the Clinical Director and IHS/HHS policies.
-Electronically document services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork within 24-hours of patient visit to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required.
Qualifications:
-Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
-Graduate of an accredited dental school approved by the commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA) with either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
-Active BLS or ACLS.
-Shall have practiced dentistry for at least two (2) years on a full time basis and have practiced for a minimum of one (1) year within the past three (3) years or be a recent (1-year) graduate of an accredited post graduate dentistry training program.
