Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Screening
Review medical and dental histories
Assess oral health, including teeth and gum conditions
Screen for signs of oral cancer or disease
Preventive & Clinical Care
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing
Remove plaque, calculus (tartar), and stains
Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants
Diagnostic Services
Take, process, and review dental X-rays in accordance with safety guidelines
Patient Education
Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and oral hygiene practices
Provide guidance on disease prevention and long-term oral health
Documentation & Records
Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and observations in electronic health records
Infection Control & Office Support
Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols
Clean and prepare treatment rooms and instruments
Assist dentists during procedures and support efficient patient flow
Monitor and maintain clinical supplies
