Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health for our patients. This role is currently for M, T, W, and every other Friday for a half day. Willing to consider applicants who are looking for a permanent part-time role for less days than that if necessary.
Responsibilities
-Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy
-Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories
-Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
-Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
-Utilize Open Dental for patient management and record keeping
-Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
-Stay current with advancements in dental technology and practices
Skills
-Proficient in Open Dental software systems is a plus but not necessary
-Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology
-Experience with medical imaging techniques and documentation review
-Familiarity with EMR systems and medical coding practices
-Excellent patient care skills with a focus on comfort and education
-Ability to work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating strong communication skills
-Prior experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred
