Part-Time General Anesthesiologist – Pediatric Dental Patients
We are seeking a part-time General Anesthesiologist (board-certified or board-eligible) to join our dental team in providing safe, effective sedation and anesthesia for pediatric dental patients.
Position Overview
The Dental General Anesthesiologist will assess patients, administer anesthesia, monitor vital signs, and oversee recovery. You will collaborate closely with dental surgeons, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Anesthetic Assessment
Review medical histories and evaluate patient readiness for anesthesia.
Conduct consultations to identify risks and develop tailored anesthesia plans.
Anesthesia Administration
Administer sedation or general anesthesia appropriate for each patient and procedure.
Perform nasal intubations when required.
Adjust anesthesia levels to maintain patient comfort and safety.
Intraoperative Monitoring
Continuously monitor heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiration.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and provide emergency interventions as needed.
Post-Anesthetic Care
Oversee safe recovery from anesthesia.
Manage immediate post-operative concerns, including pain and nausea.
Provide post-anesthetic instructions and follow-up recommendations to patients and families.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with dental surgeons and team members for coordinated care.
Clearly explain anesthesia procedures, risks, and recovery details to patients and families.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all anesthesia regulations, laws, and professional guidelines.
Maintain accurate anesthesia and patient care records.

Requirements
For Dental Anesthesiologists (DMD/DDS)
Unencumbered dental degree and completion of a dental anesthesiology residency.
Board-eligible or board-certified by the ADBA.
Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Skilled in pediatric anesthesia, nasal intubations, and in-office general anesthesia.
For Medical Anesthesiologists (MD)
Unencumbered MD degree and completion of an anesthesia residency.
Board-eligible or board-certified by the ABA.
Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Skilled in pediatric anesthesia, nasal intubations, and in-office general anesthesia.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in anesthesia.
Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
Graduate of an accredited hospital-affiliated anesthesia program.
CRNAs must be qualified to provide general anesthesia, manage patient responses, and perform emergency resuscitation when needed.
