Job Summary
Join our dedicated dental team at Vecino Health Centers as a Registered Dental Hygienist! You will provide oral hygiene and preventive services to our patients while delivering essential oral health education to individuals and groups. This role is vital in supporting the oral health management of our diverse patient base.
Please note this is a part-time position for 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Perform clinical oral hygiene services, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant, and fluoride applications in compliance with state laws and clinic protocols.
Obtain and record baseline oral hygiene assessment data and maintain accurate patient dental records.
Provide oral health education and individual counseling to patients.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate dental hygiene care into overall patient health management.
Assist in maintaining Dental Department compliance with infection control, safety, and exposure control policies.
Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials per federal, state, and clinic regulations.
Perform independent procedures as delegated by a dentist per state regulations.
Travel as needed to meet operational goals.
Adhere to all federal, state, and clinic rules governing dental hygiene practice, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
Perform other related tasks as directed to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene.
Unrestricted license to practice Oral Hygiene in the State of Texas.
6 months to 1 year of experience as a Dental Hygienist (new graduates considered).
Current CPR certification.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, practice management software, and office equipment (computer, copier, fax).
Ability to establish effective professional relationships with healthcare providers.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Clinical fluency in Spanish and English highly preferred.
Awareness of public health, social, and economic factors impacting patient oral health.
FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance eligibility.
